How Dray works

Start with your name and the postcode you are leaving. Add the new address, timing, property size and anything needing particular care if you know them. You do not need a finished inventory to begin.

We reply on the same working day. If something important is missing, we will ask a short, practical question rather than send you through a long quotation funnel.

We consider the addresses, access, timing and the nature of what is being moved. We then select one partner whose stated experience, crew and availability fit the job.

Dray is not a comparison marketplace. We share the relevant job details with that one mover so they can quote, but not your contact details. We do not distribute your enquiry to a list of firms or set off a round of competing sales calls.

If that mover is unavailable or the brief does not fit, Dray may try another partner next. The brief is handled sequentially rather than sent to several companies at once.

Dray handles any follow-up questions with the selected mover, so you do not deal with them during the quoting stage. The mover sends their scope, price, dates and assumptions to Dray. We review the quote and relay it to you.

If you want to go ahead, Dray confirms with the mover and, with your agreement, shares your contact details so you can finalise dates and details directly. Your contract, payment and moving service are with that mover—not Dray. Review their insurance, exclusions, cancellation terms and claims process before booking.

The mover is responsible for planning the crew, vehicles, protection and timings needed to complete the work carefully and efficiently.

The mover sends their quote to Dray, and Dray relays that price without adding anything. If you book, you pay the mover directly at the quoted price. For that confirmed booking, the mover pays Dray a flat referral fee based on the size of the job—not a percentage of its value. Dray adds no separate customer fee or markup. The mover remains responsible for the price and service, and there is no obligation to proceed.
