VALUABLE ITEMS · WEST LONDON HOME MOVES

A careful moving partner for the things you cannot replace.

Tell Dray what needs particular care before anyone quotes. We select one moving partner whose experience fits the belongings, property and access involved—and ask the practical questions before bringing their quote back to you.

HOW SHOULD DRAY REPLY?

Nothing is sent until you press Send in WhatsApp. Dray passes your brief to one suitable mover at a time and withholds your contact details until you accept their quote. Read our privacy notice.

Operational guidance is deliberately conservative. Check move-specific details before booking.

BEFORE ANYONE QUOTES

Describe the item and the route it must take.

Value alone does not define the job. Size, materials, construction, condition and access determine whether a household mover can propose a suitable method.

  1. 01

    The item

Type, maker or material where relevant, dimensions, approximate weight, fragile points, existing damage and anything that must not be dismantled.

  2. 02

    The route

Doorways, stairs, lifts, turns, thresholds, distance to the vehicle and the same information at the destination.

  3. 03

    The written plan

Packing, handling, disassembly, protection, responsibility, applicable insurance information and any reason a specialist may be required.

A HANDLING BRIEF

Five steps before a valuable item moves.

This sequence is designed to expose assumptions early. The selected mover still decides what service they can offer and remains responsible for the work.

A handling brief in five stages: identify, document, survey, agree and review.
  1. 01IdentifyName the item and what makes it vulnerable.
  2. 02DocumentShare dimensions, photographs and existing condition.
  3. 03SurveyCheck every turn between the item and the vehicle.
  4. 04AgreeConfirm packing, handling and responsibility in writing.
  5. 05ReviewRead the mover’s terms and insurance before booking.

WHAT TO SHARE

Useful detail for different belongings.

These prompts help Dray understand the brief. They are not packing instructions; the selected mover must confirm the actual method and terms.

INSURANCE QUESTIONS

Read the mover’s actual terms, not a general promise.

Dray does not provide the moving insurance. The selected mover should give you the information that applies to their service before you book.

Five questions worth answering in writing.

  1. 01Who provides the cover and what part of the move does it apply to?
  2. 02Are there individual-item limits, exclusions or declaration requirements?
  3. 03Are owner-packed belongings treated differently?
  4. 04How will existing condition be recorded before the item moves?
  5. 05What is the notification and claims process if something goes wrong?

WHEN A SPECIALIST IS NEEDED

Careful household moving has a boundary.

Some work should not be presented as ordinary removal work. Dray will say plainly when the available partner network is not the right fit.

MAY FIT A HOUSEHOLD MOVE

  • Art, antiques and designer furniture identified in advance
  • Mirrors, glass, instruments and wine with understood access
  • Items within the selected mover's documented capabilities and terms

MAY REQUIRE A DEDICATED SPECIALIST

  • Museum-grade logistics or specialist installation
  • Climate-controlled transport or bespoke crating
  • Very high individual values, unusual materials or oversized pieces

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY

Valuable-item questions to settle before booking.

The selected mover’s written scope and insurance information—not this guide—determine what is included and protected.
