Choose the packing help.

Add the property size and what should be packed. The selected mover can then clarify materials and timing.

HOW SHOULD DRAY REPLY?

Nothing is sent until you press Send in WhatsApp. Dray passes your brief to one suitable mover at a time and withholds your contact details until you accept their quote. Read our privacy notice.

Operational guidance is deliberately conservative. Check move-specific details before booking.

CHOOSING THE SCOPE

Packing is not one standard service.

The quote should say what the mover packs, what you pack, who provides materials and when the work happens.

FULL PACKING

Most household contents

The partner packs the agreed contents before the move. Exclusions, valuables, personal papers and items that must remain accessible should be identified.

FRAGILE-ONLY

Selected rooms or belongings

You pack the everyday contents while the mover handles agreed glassware, pictures, mirrors, ornaments or other delicate items.

OWNER-PACKED

Removal after you pack

Clarify box standards, labelling, loose-item expectations and how owner-packed contents affect the mover’s insurance or liability terms.

UNPACKING

Only where specifically offered

If you need unpacking, placement or packaging removal, request it explicitly. Availability and the exact work must appear in the mover’s scope.

A BETTER BRIEF

Three decisions make the quote clearer.

A room count is a useful start, but the type of contents and the boundary between mover-packed and owner-packed items matter too.

  1. 01

    Choose the level of help

Decide between full packing, selected fragile items or packing everything yourself, and note any rooms or belongings that differ.

  2. 02

    Identify special contents

Flag artwork, antiques, wine, books, wardrobes, kitchens and delicate collections so materials and time are not assumed.

  3. 03

    Confirm materials and timing

Check who supplies boxes and specialist materials, when packing happens, and whether unpacking or packaging collection is included.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Put the packing boundary in writing.

Dray can help clarify the proposal, but the selected mover supplies the materials, performs the packing and sets the applicable terms. Read how their insurance treats mover-packed and owner-packed contents.

  1. 01

    Read the scope

Check the addresses, inventory assumptions, access, included work and exclusions in the selected mover’s written quote.

  2. 02

    Check the terms

Review price, payment timing, availability, date-change and cancellation terms before accepting the booking.

  3. 03

    Confirm protection

Ask the mover which insurance applies, along with relevant limits, exclusions and any declared-value requirements.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY

Practical questions before you enquire.

The selected mover’s written proposal remains the source of truth for price, scope, dates, insurance and responsibility.
